Abraham Hunt

Abraham “Abe” Hunt, age 95, of Tipton, Mich., passed away April 10, 2024, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home. He was born November 25, 1928, in Franklin Township, Mich., the son Willard and Eva (DeFoe) Hunt. On June 8, 1957, he married Helen R. Strachn at Raisin Center Friends Church, Raisin Township, Mich.

He was a graduate of Tecumseh High School, Class of 1946. Abe was retired from Tecumseh Products Company. He also was a lifelong farmer and beekeeper. He was a member of Farmers Antique Tractor and Engine Association. Abe also was a 4-H leader.

In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by his children, Sandra (John) Wireback, Charles (Linda) Hunt, Barbara (Scott) Adams, and James (Susan) Hunt; six grandchildren, David Hunt, Daniel (Erin) Hunt, Kathryn Adams, Joshua (Jena) Adams, Cory (Ali) Hunt, and Kent Hunt; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Kenton, William, and Woodrow; and sisters, Ruth and Helen.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Mich., with Rev. Dr. Brad Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Tipton Cemetery.

Visitation will also take place Saturday, April 13, at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service.
