DAVID GARY LUNDY

David Gary Lundy, 69, died at home on Wednesday, February 20, 2008. David was born on May 4, 1938, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, the oldest son of Elton and Mary (Young) Lundy.  On September 27, 1986, David married Bridget (Kinney) Faff.  She survives.

David graduated from Soo High in 1956.  David worked construction during the building of the Mackinac Bridge in the late 1950s.  David enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1962.  In the early 1960s, David helped build the Ionospheric Probe in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.  He was also the Purchasing Agent for the building of Stauffer Chemical, nka Wacker Silicones, in the early 1960s.  Construction jobs led David and his family to Delaware, Alabama, and Louisiana before his family settled in Adrian, MI, in 1968.

David worked at Sears in Adrian and later at D & C Plumbing in Tecumseh.  David was self-employed 1976 through 2001 at Lundy’s Heating and Plumbing, before retiring.  David was also a City Commissioner for the City of Adrian from 1983 through 1988.   David and Bridget traveled for a few years before settling in Adrian in 2006.

David is survived by his wife, Bridget, his children Sandy (Dan) Marquez, Andrea (Scott) Crumback, Lisa (Steve) Wehner, Gary (Conni) Lundy and Bill (Stephanie), Kelly, and Brian (Csilla) Faff.  David is survived by one aunt, Ena Gregg, of Sault Ste. Marie. He is also survived by his former wife, Mary (Lundy) Sylvester.  David is survived by many grandchildren – Michael, Andrew, and Julianna Faff, Ashleigh VanNieuwenhze, Alex, Austin and Ayden Waggoner, Jessy Gorris and Molly Marquez, Clare and Ryan Crumback, David Faff, Michelle Vasquez, Teresa, Jason, and Joey Lindsey, and Tyler, Erika, Carissa and Kyle Wehner.  David is survived by a sister-in-law Sandra (Smith) DuVall, and nieces, Kelly (Robin) Dorman and Kerry (Tim) Carpenter.  He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Phyllis Kinney, Tim (Jill) Kinney, Daniel Kinney, Kathryn Kinney, and Carol (Gary) McClellan.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Elton Lundy and Mary Lundy Long, and step-father, Reginald Long, his brother, Joseph Lundy, his son, David Ray Lundy, and his brother-in-law Walter Kinney.

David was born and raised on a farm near Sault Ste. Marie. He loved his former home, “The Farm”, on Skinner Hwy.  He was an avid supporter of the 4-H Small Animal Auction at the annual Lenawee County Fair.  With that in mind, David’s family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Lenawee County 4-H Council.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 25, 2008, at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian with Sr. Rosemary Abramovich officiating.  Additionally, visitation was also offered at Hovie Funeral Home, at 558 Bingham St., Sault Ste. Marie, MI, on Wednesday, February 27, 2008.  Burial followed at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
