David U. McClaren
David U. McClaren, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 at Hospice of Lenawee. He was born on December 21, 1931, the son of Albert M. McClearen and Dalla (Spears) in Hamtramck, Michigan.
On July 6, 1989 he married Nancy J. Grounds in Britton, Mich. Dave worked for over 30 years at McLouth Steel in Detroit, Mich. He liked to work on his inventions, talk about his inventions, and sent in many patents in hopes to one day to have one trademarked. He loved to draw and talk to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He truly loved the Lord and never missed the chance to tell everyone about the Bible. Dave is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, David (Mary) McClaren of Riley, Mich., Sherri Crot of Taylor, Mich., Albert McClaren of Idaho and Tony McClaren of Southgate, Mich. Two step-daughters, Charlene (David) McCrate of New York and Julia (David) Collins of Tecumseh, 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, a brother, James McClareen, brother-in-law, Chuck (Ginny) Broderick of Grass Lake, and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will take place on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 and burial will follow at Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, Mich.
Memorial contributions may be made to Britton Bethel Baptist Church or Hospice of Lenawee.
