Donors help make TDL a true resource for the community
To the Editor,
Tecumseh District Library recently celebrated their generous 2015 donors at a Saturday evening “Goodbye to the 60s” soiree. It was not only enjoyable to personally thank each one who attended the event, but also to share progress on the lower level renovation.
Phase 2 of a 3-phase plan is nearly complete. Phase 3 will provide updated technology making the lower level friendlier for programs, classes and groups who need Internet access. TDL is anxious to reopen the lower level so the many users who enjoy the programs, book sales and meeting spaces can get back to business in an enhanced and updated environment. Our patrons also enjoy the library as just a friendly community gathering place.
Making the Saturday soiree a success were the talents of 3 Dudes and Dinner, Brownie’s Pizza, Ed Gerten from Pentamere Winery and Christine Obeid’s art students, who painted a theme banner. Thanks to all who generously gave of time and talents, the event was a success.
When you visit TDL, be sure to look for the new donor- etched window on the North side recognizing those who supported the Library with gifts of $1,000 or more in 2015. Since millage proceeds are used for operating expenses, not capital improvements, our donors help make the library truly a community resource.
