Eddie D. McKenzie

Eddie Douglas McKenzie, age 83, of Tecumseh, died Saturday afternoon, May 3, 2025, at Adrian Bay Nursing and Rehab after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born on October 16, 1941, in Chauncey, West Virginia, Doug was the son of the late Henry and Goldie (Stratton) McKenzie.
Doug married the former Sandra Kay Beckington on December 5, 1964, in Saline. Together, they raised three daughters and enjoyed more than 60 wonderful years, filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.
For 25 years, Doug dedicated himself to his career at Ford Motor Company, where he formally retired in 1999. A true outdoorsman, Doug enjoyed gardening as well as the sports of hunting and fishing in his leisure time. He was also an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed his membership and friends at the Tecumseh Fraternal Order of Eagles. Doug’s family, however, was his greatest treasure. He lived for the moments spent together.
In addition to his beloved wife, Sandra, he is survived by his daughters of whom he was most proud, Teri (Chris) Barth of Tecumseh, Rhonda (Deryl) Clark of Adrian, and Carleen (Matt) Stoianowski of Brooklyn; his cherished grandchildren, Ashley Barth, Angela Clark, and Matt (Melissa) Clark; seven great-grandchildren, Alexis, Marissa, Madison, Matthew, Trey, Cameron, and Jaxin; his sister, Peggy Allen of Keyston, Ind.; and a sister-in-law, Judy McKenzie of Pittsford. Besides his parents, Doug was preceded in his death by a sister, Doris Rumsey; and brothers, Don, Clayton, Randy, Chet, Sonny, and Dick.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Tecumseh on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 11 a.m. until the funeral service that will begin at 1 p.m. Pastor Greg Burdine will officiate. Burial will follow in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh.
