To the Editor,
My name is Tina Clark and I am the mother of Mary Clark, the six year old who was victim to a traumatic accidental scald burn on Dec. 16.
Since Mary’s accident, the community has shown such an incredible support for my daughter and our family. I would like to thank everyone for being so amazingly supportive and giving through this whole ordeal.
There are so many people that I would like to thank: the Palmyra Fire Dept., Shelly’s Seeds of Success Mary Kay Unit, Basil Boys, Carter Rehab, the staff at Sutton Schools and all the businesses and individuals that donated items, time, and money to Mary’s fundraiser and the gifts and donations made at TLC. To everyone who has graciously given out of their hearts to my daughter, most of you who I don’t even know the names of, thank you so much. A special thank you to Josh and Patty Lawrence, who have been so compassionate and gave so much time and energy to putting together a fundraiser for a girl they had never even met, you are truly special. And to Shelby, Mary’s sister, and all the paramedics from the Palmyra Fire Dept., Madison Fire Det., and St. V’s Children’s Hospital — I am truly indebted to you for saving my daughter’s life.
Mary’s burns are healing and she is coming along well. Unfortunately, she does have surgeries coming up to correct skin bands that have formed so that she can have full range of motion back in her upper body, but we are praying that everything will heal correctly. She will have a few more surgeries ahead of her before this is all over, but she has been a trooper through the whole thing.
Again, I just want to thank everyone for everything they have done to make this trauma less painful for her and our family. You are amazing and have blessed our family beyond what words can describe. We are touched from the bottom of our hearts.
The family of Mary Clark
