To the Editor,

My wife arrived at our veterinary clinic on the morning of March 19  to find a red soft-sided cat carrier at the door. The front of it had been torn open by what ever was in it when it ws dropped off.

I suspect that someone was abandoning their pet with us in hopes that we would  find a home for it. Maybe it was someone who caught on of those infamous feral cats of Tecumseh.

Either way, the cat was so freaked out that between the time that person left it here and the time we arrived, it must have clawed it’s way out. It is now scared and has now been added to that feral population.

We do not believe in euthanizing healthy pets but we do ot have the resources to be our own humane society. There are other alternatives to acting this way. Please contact the humane society of Lenawee County or your veterinarian for alternatives.

I’m sure that cat in the red carrier at my door this morning deserved more than a future of being a scared lost cat as it is today.
