Evans Street Station chef makes cooking fun
Chef Alan Merhar shared his culinary expertise to a sold out audience at the Evans Street Station Sunday where cooking was demonstrated from the restaurant’s exhibition kitchen. The weekend’s class was titled “Cooking for Two.” Beef tenderloin with pan sauce, potato cakes, soup and salad, and chocolate pot de crème dessert were prepared with finesse as Merhar explained the methods of preparation, while providing plenty of tips and suggestions along the way. An encore “Cooking for Two” class is scheduled for March 9. Call for reservations at 424-5555. A second upcoming cooking class, “Wild Game,” is scheduled on March 2.
