Garold James Jahner

TECUMSEH — Garold James Jahner, age 85, of Tecumseh, died Thursday, June 11, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 28, 1940, in Bismark, N.D., the oldest of eight children of the late Frank and Margaret (Schwartzenberger) Jahner.
Gary grew up in Belleville, Mich., and graduated from Belleville High School. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Gloria Haft. Together, they raised three daughters and spent 68 years making wonderful memories.
Gary moved his family to Tecumseh in 1969 to experience a small, rural community and raise horses at their home. Gary’s passion for the game of golf grew, and he joined the Tecumseh Country Club, where he was a 56-year member and remained an active golfer until a week before his passing.
Gary was a great salesman and represented many different companies and products, including horse trailers, cars, Cleveland golf clubs and accessories, and medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
Gary deeply loved his family and especially enjoyed the blessings of grandchildren and great-grandchildren later in his life.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Gloria, are their daughters, Michele (Walt) Wollard, Janice (Tim) Whitford and Kim (Mike) Muncie; two brothers, Phred (Pat) Jahner and Richard (Gordie) Jahner; six grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Doman, Meghan (Filip) Myc, Jonathon (Ivana) Muncie-Vasic, Christopher (Stephanie) Muncie, Justin Wollard and Angela Wollard; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Connor, Finn, Sofia, and Ellie.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in his death by five of his siblings.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Marry Funeral Home in Tecumseh on Friday, June 19, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m. until a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Pastor Chris Brundage will officiate. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
