Gordon “Dean” Collins

Gordon “Dean” Collins, 80, of Medina, Ohio, formerly of Saline, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016.

Gordon was born December 5, 1935 in Tecumseh, Mich., to Russell and Frances (Wilson) Collins. He attended Clinton High School and later served his country in the U.S. Army. On November 26, 1960 he married Lois Colmer in Maple Heights, Ohio. Gordon was employed by the Ford Motor Company for 40 years before retiring and moving to Grayling, where he enjoyed the peacefulness of “Up North” for almost 20 years. Gordon recently relocated to Ohio to be near his daughters and grandchildren.

Gordon was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also spent many years playing fast-pitch softball, golfing and bowling. Gordon will be remembered and missed most for his contagious laugh.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters, Deanna (Tom) Dubiel of Hinckley, Ohio and Karen (Cary) Fowler of Rootstown, Ohio; five grandchildren, Devon Dubiel, Chad Dubiel, Tricia Fowler, Maria Fowler, and Lawren Fowler; brothers, Jack (Carol) Collins of Carmichael, California, Tim (Trudy) Collins of Saline, and Jim (Ethel) Collins of Tecumseh.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Russell Collins, Jr.

Arrangements were entrusted to Waite & Son Funeral Home, Medina, Ohio.
