Indians win own cheer invitational
Tecumseh's varsity competitive cheer team picked up the title to its own Division 1-2 invitational on Saturday, Feb. 23, while Michigan Center was the champion in the Division 3-4 competition.
The Indians' A team was the team to beat during their only home showing of the season as it held the lead throughout all three rounds of competition. In the opening round, the Indians scored 221 points to take control while Adrian followed with 189.500. The outcome of the round matched the final event results with each team remaining in its position after the first round. After round two the Indians jumped to a 436.968-341.748 advantage over the Maples.
Tecumseh closed the invitational with 724.968 points to place first while Adrian finished second in Division 1-2 with 598.284 points. Saline's Hornets finished third with 584.490 points; Parma Western (584.490) was fourth and Tecumseh's B team (517.216) placed fifth.
Clinton's varsity squad placed fifth in Division 3-4 with 615.460 points. Columbia Central came in second (675.016) while Onsted finished third (669.676). Rounding out the teams were Madison (641.475), Manchester (595.782), Blissfield (574.100) and Hillsdale (501.464).
