Jack Bartlett

After a long illness, Jack Bartlett, 79, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, peacefully at home with his wife, Meredith, and dog, Louie, by his side. Jack was born in Olivet, Mich. in 1945. In 1965, Jack came to study at the University of Michigan and after graduation stayed in the area. Jack married Meredith in 1980  and has lived in Macon, Mich. for 44 years. He was proceeded in death by his beloved daughter, Jessica (DeRamus) and his parents, Weldon Bartlett and Phyllis Masters.

Jack was an avid Michigan fan. He loved sailing and playing golf. Jack had many friends and always had a joke to tell. He was a man of many talents and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He sculptured a fisher man out of a log, and painted a picture of an old advertising sign on the family’s barn that is still there.

Jack is survived by his wife, Meredith; daughter, Christine Bartlett; sister Corky (John) Hagemann; granddaughters, Kayla (Danny) Yeager; Amber (Ben) Gould; great-granddaughters, Addie DeRamus and Piper and Peyton Glenn; nephew, Mark (Jennifer) Hagemann; and niece, Karen Hagemann.
