Jacolyn P. Van Camp

Jacolyn P. Van Camp, 85, of Tecumseh, passed away on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 at Bixby Hospital in Adrian. She was born on October 31, 1930 in Kalamazoo, Mich., the daughter of Robert and Myrtle (Perrin) Gillespie. On December 9, 1948 she married George Dunham Van Camp Jr. and they shared 57 wonderful years together until his passing in 2006.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends. She loved and had a great appreciation for antiques, shopping and drinking coffee with her friends. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Craig (Pat) Van Camp of Tecumseh and Mike (Shelia) Van Camp of Adrian; her special niece and nephew, Linda Glenn and Gary Easton, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jackie was preceded in death by one brother Robert Gillespie and one sister Clara Easton.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, from 4-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes and also from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Friday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Hawkins officiating from NewSong Community Church.

Entombment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
