Jan H. Smith
Jan Harriet (Geitgey) Smith, beloved wife, mom, MeMe, and Great MeMe, age 82, of Tecumseh, Mich., passed away on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026. She was born on May 28, 1943 in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, the daughter of the late Harry Howard and Jannette (Miller) Geitgey. She was joined in marriage with Ray Arthur Smith Jr. on December 31, 1993 in Indianapolis, Ind., and he survives. Jan enjoyed doing stained glass work. She always looked forward to traveling around the country with Ray in their vintage Pontiac station wagon going to various car shows. She also enjoyed being with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Jan is survived by her husband, Raymond Arthur Smith Jr.; her children, Shelley (Steve Thorson) Hernandez, John Hernandez, and Justin Smith; her grandchildren, Kira (Billy) Hoff, Alexis and AnJanelle Hernandez; and six great-grandchildren, Aryanna, Channing, Grayson, Brynleigh and Syaire Hernandez, and Cambrie Hoff.
