John T. Sisson

John Theodore Sisson, age 95, of Tecumseh, Mich., passed away at Cambrian Assisted Living in Tecumseh on December 22, 2024 under the care of Careline Hospice. 

Ted was born September 28, 1929, in Tecumseh, the son of Llewellyn N. and Mina (Lamkin) Sisson. He married Gwendolyn Beland on November 24, 1981 and she preceded him in death on October 31, 2014. 

Ted served in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II. Hayden Flour Mill, Tecumseh, employed him for 20 plus years. He and Gwen owned the Sand Trap Driving Range. He was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and was an avid sports enthusiast. Traveling north and south, he was fortunate to spend summers in Michigan and winters in Florida. Family and friends were an important part of his life. 

He is survived by his sister, Linda (Robert) Martin of Tecumseh; as well as his children, Dawn Sisson of St. Augustine, Fla., Brad Sisson of Tecumseh, Kelly Sisson of Blissfield, Mich., and Stephen (Kathy) Sisson of Waterford, Mich.; and grandsons, Eric (Angela) Sisson and Jared (Paige) Sisson. 

Ted was preceded in death by his sister, Priscilla Clark.

Private interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh at a future date.
