Jorge E. Galindo

Jorge Enrique Galindo, age 95, of Tecumseh, Mich., gained his heavenly wings on Jan. 27, 2026, at home, surrounded by family and in the loving care of Hospice of Lenawee. Jorge was born May 14, 1930, in Ramiriquí, Colombia, to Francisco A. Galindo and Pacífica (Guerrero) Galindo.
He traveled to the United States as a young man to attend Eastern Michigan University, where he met Lois K. Kiser, with whom he shared 24 years of marriage and raised six children. Jorge was proud to become a United States citizen in 1976. A lifelong man of science and curiosity, he built a successful 35-year career as a chemist at Wacker Chemical before retiring.
Family was the center of Jorge’s life. He approached fatherhood with patience, steadiness, and deep devotion. His passion for serving others was rooted in his deep Christian faith.
Jorge is survived by his children, Maureen (Mark) Bell, Jim “Jamie” (Laura) Galindo, Anita Mosier, Susan “Tracy” (Mark) DiSanto, David (Keesha) Galindo, and Patricia “Trisha” (Josh) Barth; his brothers Alfredo, Gilberto, and Mariano; sisters Estela, Ines, Mery, Rosalba, and Lucy; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Ana Baron; two sisters, Isabel and Marina; two brothers, Francisco and Efraín; and good friend, Joy Starr.
