Keith Brown

Keith Brown, age 81 of Onsted, joined his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at the Henry Ford Jackson Hospital.

Keith was born on September 9, 1943, in Estherville, Iowa to Vernon and Sylvia (Hiles) Brown, making up one-fourth of the Brown boys. He graduated in 1961 from Lincoln Central High School in Gruver, Iowa.

In 1965, Keith married Mary Elliott, and they were blessed with two children, Shelley and Chad. Mary passed away April 29, 2000. Keith was fortunate and found love again, marrying Janet Koch on February 23, 2002. With their union, Keith’s family grew with Janet’s children – Richard, Donald, and Jackie and their families. Keith and Janet enjoyed traveling and gardening outside their home.

Keith earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1965. He opened a practice in West Union, Iowa before moving to Adrian in 1973, serving the community until his retirement in 2011. Keith loved automobiles and the many different aspects, including racing, restoration and going to car shows. He was a collector of automobilia which covered oil cans and gas pumps. He appreciated being out in nature and treasured his camping adventures.

He will be missed by his wife, Janet; children, Shelley (Sean) Shepherd and Chad (Sarah) Brown; stepchildren, Richard (Kathy) Koch, Donald (Karen) Koch and Jackie Koch; grandson, Keith Austin Brown; step-grandchildren, Joshua Koch, Lauren MacDonald, Mark Hutchinson, Michele Koch and Thomas Hutchinson; brother Al Brown; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companions, Otis and Maggie. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Brown; and brothers, Bobby and Duane Brown.

Visitation for Keith will take place on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024, from 3-7 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Stephen Boley officiating. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday until the time of funeral services in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park.
