Kevin B. Howard

Kevin Brant Howard, age 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024 at Hospice Home of Lenawee in Adrian, Mich. after a courageous battle against cancer.

Kevin was born to Monte and Wanda (Logan) Howard in Montebello, Calif. He most recently lived in Tecumseh, Mich.

Kevin graduated from Chelsea High School in 1981 and then went on to raise his daughters, Shauna and Ashley, with his former wife, Diana, in Milan, Mich. He enjoyed living in the Iron Mountain/ Marquette area for several years until his first grandson was born. He took great pride in earning his Bachelors of Applied Sciences degree majoring in computer aided design and technology at Sienna Heights University in 2018 after many years of hard work and overcoming challenges. He then went on to start his career at Wacker Chemical Corporation in Adrian where he developed lasting friendships with wonderful coworkers.

Kevin was a creative soul and a talented artist. He loved being active in the outdoors running or biking and had a lifelong love of cars. His Maine Coon, Mr. Magoo, was the apple of his eye. Perhaps his favorite role in life was that of “Papa” to his grandsons, Brady (13), Luke (11) and Caleb (3) whom he adored. He enjoyed spending time with the boys and taking them on special adventures. He was the type of selfless person who would stop whatever he was doing to help his friends and family whenever needed.

He is preceded in death by his father Monte and his nephew Mitchell Howard. Survivors include his mother, Wanda, of Tecumseh; sister, Kim Howard of New Mexico; brother, Keith (Tammy) Howard of Battle Creek; daughters, Shauna (Rick) Wilson of Saline, and Ashley (Nik) Howard of Dearborn; several loved cousins; and nieces and nephews, Paige (Jason) Axley, Hayley Massicotte, Randall Howard, Sidda Howard; and his beloved grandsons and best friend Sam Orozco of Adrian.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Kevin’s neighbors, Sam and Laura Walsh, for all of their care and assistance throughout his illness and to Hospice of Lenawee for their excellent and compassionate end of life care.

Friends and family are invited to share memories and a meal together at a casual, open-house style Celebration of Life located at Dawn Farm Community Barn, 6633 Stony Creek Road, Ypsilanti, MI 48197 on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to littlemews.org.
