Letter to the Editor and Perspectives Column

The Tecumseh Herald welcomes Letters to the Editor.

All letters submitted must include the writer’s first and last name, street address and telephone number for verification purposes. When mailed or hand delivered a signature is required, as well. When printed in The Herald, the letter will only include the author’s name and city, however. Under no circumstances will we print anonymous letters, and those without an adequate mailing address will not be printed.

Letters will be limited to a maximum of 500 words, and should not contain personal attacks or disputes, accusations, or responses that disparage a business or someone’s character. Photocopies and letters to third parties will not be accepted.

We reserve the right to edit letters to fit space limitations or for clarity, style, grammar and spelling, and to accept or reject any letter.

Letters are published on a space-available basis. Publication will be limited to one letter per author per 30 days.

Letters of thanks or congratulatory wishes related to a local person or event are welcome to be submitted.

The deadline for letters is Monday, 5 p.m., for that week’s paper.

Perspectives Column: The Herald also accepts submissions for the Perspectives column, for expressions on a topic or a personal outlook that may be of interest to our readers. Perspectives submissions are limited to a maximum of 625 words and are accepted under the same guidelines that apply to Letters to the Editor. The Herald reserves the right to accept or reject any Perspectives submission.

Email letters to letters@tecumsehherald.com or mail to Letters to the Editor, The Tecumseh Herald, 110 E. Logan St., Tecumseh, MI 49286. Email Perspectives submissions to Editor Jackie Koch at jackie@tecumsehherald.com.
