Lucille Herrell

Lucille Herrell, age 84, of Tecumseh, passed away August 31, 2020.

Lucille was born October 22, 1935 in Harrogate, Tenn., the daughter of James Allen and Iva (Massengill) Yeary. On January 4, 1952 she married Orbin Herrell in Tazwell, Tenn. and he survives.

Lucille retired from the Country House restaurant in Tecumseh as a prep cook after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church and attended the first service.

In addition to her husband, Orbin, Lucille is survived by her children, Linda Herrell and Christene (David) Willis; grandchildren, Kayla (Ronnie) Young, Andrea (Andrew) Kyle and Trevor Willis; and a sister, Mary Burchett.

She was preceded in death by her parents and children, Frank Herrell and Judy Herrell; and siblings, Jessie Yeary, Shelva Yeary, Hazel Sowers, Stacie Cosby, Shrelda Braden, Connie Brown,  Frances Burchett and Onalee Dalton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, at Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church.
