LuVerne Whisman
LuVerne Whisman, 93 of Tecumseh, passed away March 30, 2021. LuVerne was born May 12, 1927 in Leroy, Illinois to Edward and Edna Mitchell.
She did childcare for many years and became good friends with the families. She also worked at Lev’s Bakery, Ken Ray’s and Big Boy. On March 4, 1950 she married Elwood Wesley Whisman.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Stanley) Wise and a son, Paul Whisman. She was preceded in death by her husband Elwood, a daughter Marcia (Fred) Pearsall, and her son Mark, her parents and five brothers and two sisters. She is also survived by grandchildren, Shawn (Amanda) Wise, Aaron Wise, Danielle Jones, Michael (Melissa) Jones, David (Tiffany) Jones and Carrie (Nick) Wiley, Samantha and Toni; 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She loved being called Nana, Nana Great and Nana Lu.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Cremation has taken place.
