Manuel Torres
Manuel Torres, 93, of Tecumseh, passed away peacefully at Lenawee Medical Care Facility on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021. He was born April 27, 1928 in Laredo, Texas, to Ramon and Jesusita Torres. On October 9, 1953 he married Adelaida (Adela) Anaya. Manuel was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He was a retiree of Tecumseh Products. He and Adela enjoyed ministering to local migrant workers. Manuel also ministered at the Gus Harrison Correctional Facility.
He is survived by brothers, Claudio Torres, C. Manuel Torres, and Jessie Sanchez; sisters, Lydia Jasso and Rosa Dolman; daughter, Teresa Hutchinson; step-children, Jose Lopez and Maria Dillon; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Adelaida (Anaya) Torres; daughters, Maria Manuela Torres and Felicidad Vasquez; his son, George Torres; parents, Ramon and Jesusita Torres; brother, Calixtro; sisters, Pauline Pizana and Angie Sanchez; and step-children, Argie Marsh and Oscar Lopez.
A memorial will take place at 10 a.m. on December 6 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, followed by Mass at noon with Fr. Dan Wheeler as celebrant. Flowers may be sent to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
