Marie D. Brady

Marie Dorothy Brady, age 94, of Tecumseh, Mich. passed away, January 1, 2025, at Tecumseh Place Assisted Living with family by her side. She was born at home on the family farm near Pittsford, Mich. on April 11, 1930, the daughter of Clare and Dorothy (Corwin) Kelley.

Marie moved to Tecumseh in the early 50s and lived in the same house for over 70 years.

In 1967, she married George H. Brady, and they were together until his death in 2016. They enjoyed camping and festivals featuring country and gospel music. Marie served as a loving “nanny” to several children over the years and worked in a factory for some time.

Surviving Marie are her daughter, Cheri (Mark) Hinkleman; daughter-in-law, Louise Lane; and two grandsons, Ryan and Troy (Abby) Hinkleman. She also is a proud great-grandma to Lily, Gwen, Declan, Jack and Charlie Hinkleman. Marie’s only brother, Rex Kelley, also survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and both sons, Gary and Doug Lane.

Visitation will take place Friday, Jan. 10, 2025 from 2-3 p.m. at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Mich., and the funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Gene Hurley officiating. Final resting place will be at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.
