Marie Fish

Marie Fish, age 96, of Tecumseh, passed away May 29, 2021.

Marie was born January 9, 1925 in Allendorf, Germany, the daughter of Heinrich and Elisabethe Weissner III. On May 29, 1976, she married Roy Fish in Tecumseh and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1992. She retired from Busch’s after 25 plus years of service.

Whether Marie was playing a practical joke on someone or just being silly, she was always making us laugh.

She was tough as nails when she needed to be but she had a heart of gold on the inside. Marie enjoyed playing bingo, being with family and especially trips back to visit her family in Germany. Marie was loved by all and will be in our hearts forever.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Liz (Nicole) Gordon, Linda (Desi) Pizana and Joan (Bruce) Howe from her marriage to Keith Spencer;  18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Roy, Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Heinrich and Elisabethe; son, Herbert Gorzkiewicz; daughter, Elli Handy; grandchild, David Penney; sisters, Elise Hessler and Wilhelmine Wiessner; and brother, Ludwig Wiessner.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m.  on Saturday, June 5, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Eric Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. preceding the service.
