MARY L. SCAFASCI
Mary L. Scafasci, 89, of Adrian, died Friday, February 15, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Ann Arbor. She was born June 2, 1918 in Vulcan, MI to John and Katherine (Grasian) Sartori. She graduated from Vulcan High School in 1935 and then was married to Albert Scafasci on February 6, 1940 in Loretto, MI. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1994. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Adrian.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Donald and Janice Scafasci of Ypsilanti; 3 daughters, Barbara Griewahn of Tecumseh, Linda Kay Scafasci of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Robert (Mary Ann) Mercieca of Southfield; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Rose Marie) Bray of Vulcan, MI; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Albert, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clarence and Raymond; and 2 sisters, Ida and Esther.
The Funeral Liturgy was offered Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norway Twp., Michigan. Burial was in Norway Twp. Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday at the Miner-Ortman Funeral Home in Norway where a Vigil Prayer Service was held.
