Michele E. Wonderly

Michele Elizabeth Wonderly, age 71, of Britton, Mich. passed away peacefully in the loving care of Hospice of Lenawee at the Hospice Home with her family by her side on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024. She was born on May 27, 1953 in Tecumseh, Mich., a daughter of Louise (Miller) and the late Lewis A. Vershum. On July 3, 1975 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Britton, she married Roger “Rick” Henry Wonderly and they have shared over 49 years together. Michele worked for 31 years in medical research at the University of Michigan where she retired in 2008. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, canoe trips, but most of all she devoted her time to helping out other people and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by her coffee friends that met on Wednesdays at the diner in Britton.

Along with her husband Rick, Michele is survived by her children, Rachel (Travis) Havens of Dundee, Mich. and Ryan (Alisa Maxwell) Wonderly of Blissfield, Mich.; mother, Louise Vershum of Britton; siblings, Raymond Vershum of Mound, Minn., Philip (Kristen) Vershum of Tecumseh, and Rita (Tom) Horton of Clinton, Mich; and three grandchildren, Makenna and Kameron Havens and Wyatt Wonderly along with several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Condolences may be offered to the family at handlerfuneralhomes.com.
