Richard “Dick” Jay Feight

Richard “Dick” Jay Feight, age 95, of Tecumseh, Mich. passed away on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 at Cambrian Assisted Living. He was born on August 10, 1926 in Ypsilanti, Mich., son of the late Glenn Bennett and Olive Josephine (Dickerson) Feight. Dick grew up in Belleville, Mich. and after graduating from Belleville High School, he attended Michigan State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. On August 30, 1947 he married Shirley Mae Cole and they shared over 60 years together before her death in 2008.

Dick was self-employed and designed kitchens for many people over the years. He was very active in the Tecumseh Kiwanis Club where he received the Hixson Award and just recently was awarded the Kiwanis Heart Award. The highlight of his year was always the Christmas event he put on along with his wife at the Porter Center. Dick was also a member of the MGA Club and former president.

He is survived by his children, Greg (Gwen) Feight of Tecumseh and Kim (Bob) Brunelli of Ann Arbor, Mich.; brother, Keith (Patricia) Feight of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; three grandchildren, Richard Brunelli, Elizabeth Brunelli and Robert (Robin) Brunelli; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Cassidy Brunelli; and his nephews, nieces, and cousins. Along with his parents and wife he is preceded in death by a brother, David Feight.

A memorial service for Dick will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Online condolences may be offered to the family at handlerfuneralhomes.com.
