ROBERT CHARLES RYAN
Robert Charles Ryan, 86, of Adrian, died Thursday, February 21, 2008, at home with his loving wife at his side. He was born May 11, 1921, in Rome Township to William and Beaulh (Jacox) Ryan. He married Virginia Bates on May 27, 1943, in Adrian.
Robert had been employed by Tecumseh Products, retiring in 1983. He also farmed for many years and established Ryans Bakery in 1964 with his wife, Virginia.
What Robert cherished most in life was his wife, and family. And later in life his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him great joy.
In addition to his wife, Virginia, he is survived by two sons, Richard Ryan of Onsted and Roger (Vicki Daniels) Ryan of Adrian; three daughters, Sylvia (Lloyd) Stoner, Carla (Ward) Allen and Ruth Ann (Dave) Sutphin all of Adrian; 17 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, five sisters, and a grandson, Scott Ryan.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, February 25, 2008, at the Anderson Funeral Home with Pastor Fritz Kruse officiating. Burial was in East Rome Cemetery.
