Robert T. Forgiel

Robert Thaddeus Forgiel, age 66, of Tecumseh, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at his home with his family at his side. He was born July 6, 1958, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Thaddeus and the late Rose (Laskos) Forgiel. Robert was joined in marriage with Katherine Ann Kollewehr, and she survives.

Robert graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and he worked as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years at Chrysler Corporation, primarily at their Chelsea Proving Grounds, retiring in 2016. He was a proud member of the Society of Engineering and he spent his time outside of work doing things he loved, primarily farming and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

In addition to his wife and father, Robert is survived by two sons, Jonathan (Lora) Forgiel of Clinton and Mark (Katelyn) Forgiel of Tecumseh; his sister, Barbara Farkas-Forgiel of Warren, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Penelope, Jack and Trevor Forgiel.

In accordance with Robert’s wishes cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Mass will take place at noon, Monday, Aug. 5, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment in Brookside Cemetery will follow the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.  Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes.
