Roy Waycaster
Roy Waycaster, age 82, of Tecumseh, left his earthly home on August 25, 2024, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee and several family members. He was born on July 30, 1942, in Roan Mountain, Tenn. to Robert and Blanche (Isaacs) Waycaster. On May 28, 1976, Roy married Karen Hendricks and she survives.
Roy was a graduate of Adrian High School Class of 1961. He served four years in the United States Navy as an electronics technician. He retired from Sensor’s Inc. in 2011. He and Karen enjoyed many years camping in their motor home. Roy also enjoyed playing Chet Attkins and listening to Alison Krauss.
Roy is survived by wife, Karen, of 48 years; step-daughter, Michelle Wiles of Tecumseh, Mich.; a grandson, Ryan Gower of Tecumseh; and son-in-law Paul Hanadel of Ypsilanti, Mich. He is also survived by a brother, Randy (Yvonne) Waycaster of Adrian Mich.; sisters-in-law, Thelma Waycaster of Adrian MI, Janice (Wayne) Edwards of Grand Rapids, and Beverly (Rick) Koebbe of Eagle, Idaho; a nephew Kevin (Judy) Waycaster of Urbandale, Idaho; nieces Jena (Dave) Feigel, and Kristen (Morgan) McGovert, Eagle Idaho; and several great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and in-laws, Roy was preceded in death by a son, Keith Waycaster, a daughter, Kimberly Hanadel, an infant sister, and a brother, Billie Waycaster.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh, on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 11 a.m. until the funeral begins at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
