Ruth Tilton

Ruth Marie Tilton, age 89, of Tecumseh passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023 at Cambrian Assisted Living in Tecumseh. She was born December 3, 1934 in Tecumseh the daughter of the late George W. and Gladys B. (Boyd) Tilton.

Ruth graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1953. She went on to work in the business office at Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh and retired in 1996. She had many talents including embroidery, crocheting and gardening.

Ruth enjoyed cleaning her home and having popcorn and Pepsi night every Sunday evening. She was a remarkable daughter, sister, aunt and cousin. What brought her the most joy was when her young nieces, nephews and cousins would come to The Farm to visit. This is what made her shine! Playing outdoor and indoor games and reading them books was truly pure Heaven to her.

Ruth is survived by her siblings, Florence Tilton of Tecumseh, George “Bud” Tilton of Tecumseh, Mary (Roger) Baker of Vicksburg, James (Diane) Tilton of Tecumseh, David Tilton of Tecumseh and Linda (Ray) Schmidt of Tecumseh; a special cousin, Carolyn (John) Carter of Tecumseh and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Evelyn Schultz, William Tilton and Harold Tilton.

Services for Ruth will be private and she will be buried at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh.
