Steven E. Shelley
Steven Edward Shelley, 70, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Perry, Mich. on February 21, 2024. Steve was born on July 17, 1953 to the late Bill and Helen (Niethammer) Shelley.
After graduating from Clinton High School in 1972, Steve pursued his passion for agriculture at Michigan State University where he earned a degree in Animal Husbandry. On May 28, 1977, Steve married the love of his life, Marjanne Korbijn, at the Clinton United Church of Christ. They have shared 46 years together.
Steve’s professional journey was marked by his 26-year tenure as a dedicated driver for the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA). Steve also volunteered as a chaplain for the prison fellowship, where he touched the lives of many with his compassion and wisdom. During the Christmas season his spirit of giving shone brightly as he rang the bell for the Salvation Army.
Steve is survived by his wife, Marjanne; daughter, Stephanie (David) Syers; and grandchildren, Brooks and Harper. He is also survived by his sister, Jan (Mark) Wegner, and brother, Glenn. Also surviving are several cousins, nephews and nieces. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Brad Shelley.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 12 at the Clinton United Church of Christ. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with service beginning at 11 a.m. There will be a luncheon to follow at the church. Memorials can be made to the Clinton United Church of Christ or Salvation Army of Owosso. Envelopes will be available at the church.
