Tecumseh’s varsity boys lacrosse team beats visiting SMCC 11-5 with Robison being key for win
TECUMSEH — Dylan Day scored four of Tecumseh’s goals at home against Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central (SMCC) on Wednesday, April 27 and helped the Indians pick up an 11-5 victory.
SMCC tied the match 3-3 but the Indians’ defense, led by Bogar Trout, Waide Osburn, Stephen Wright and goalie Mike Litogot held SMCC scoreless in the second half.
Litogot had seven saves in goal. Tecumseh had seven players score including Trout, a defenseman. Tecumseh’s attack was led by Day with his four goals and one assist and Max Austermiller with three goals.
Another key to the victory, according to Tecumseh coach Steve Ayre, was sophomore Fernando Robison’s 1-on-1 match-up against an all-state player at face-off. With the help of the Indians’ midfield and long stick midfielder Stephen Wright, Robison won 13-of-20 face-offs.
