Theresa Johnston-Body

Theresa “Terry” Johnston-Body passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, in New Port Richey, Fla. She was born on October 5, 1937, in Morenci, Mich. Terry spent many years in Nashville, Tenn., where she worked for The HON Company as a territory manager and met her beloved husband, Murray Body. Together, they shared a deep and joyful bond – two peas in a pod – spending their time traveling, enjoying life by the lake, and cherishing each other’s company.
Terry found joy in gardening, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. In recent years, she became an active member of her community. She especially enjoyed participating in “Stitch and Chat,” a group of friends who gathered to crochet and share stories. She also took up playing Canasta with another cherished group of companions. These friendships brought her great happiness and were deeply meaningful to her.
Terry is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Steve) Sensing of Burns, Tenn., and Mendi (Rodney) Lassiter of Buchanan, Tenn.; son Murray (Tammy) Body III of Columbia, Tenn.; twin brother Ted (Carol) Verrier of Saint Anthony, Idaho; sister Barbara Retan of Tecumseh, Mich.; and her furry companion LuLu (Dale’s chihuahua). She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Body Jr.; three sons – Dale Johnston, Bruce Allan Johnston, and Drue Gage; parents Franklin and Majorie (Cure) Verrier; brother Eugene Verrier; brother-in-law Lavon Retan and Black Pepper “Jack” Johnston (Bruce’s pug). Terry’s life was marked by resilience, warmth, and a love for connection. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
Services are incomplete at this time and will be announced.
