Thomas A. Vance

Thomas Arthur Vance, age 81, of Tecumseh, Mich., passed away September 19, 2025. He was born October 13, 1943, in Iaeger, W. Va., the son of Clifford and Evelyn (Cline) Vance. On December 16, 1967 he married Carol S. Rentschler in Tecumseh, and she survives.

Tom was a graduate of Milan High School, Milan, Mich. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Tom was retired from Ford Motor Company, Rawsonville Plant, with 37 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially camping with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by his son, Troy Vance; daughter, Traci (Donnie) Bobby; four grandchildren, Nick and Katy Vance and Jacob and Mallory Christman; five great grandchildren; twin brother, Ron Vance; and sister, Kathy (Michael) Foster.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will take place Monday, Sept. 29, 2025 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Following the visitation, a procession to Lenawee Hills Memorial Garden will commence where graveside service will be held, with Reverend Chris Lanham officiating. Military honors will also be performed by the United States Navy Sailor Team and Tecumseh American Legion Post 34 and VFW Post 4187 Funeral Honors Team.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Elara Caring Hospice.

Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to a funeral luncheon at The Ashlar, 700 Bishop Reed Dr., Tecumseh.
