MORRIS “MORRIE” MILLARD WRIGHT
Morris “Morrie” Millard Wright, 81 of Adrian, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Monday, February 11, 2008 at his home. Morris was born June 30, 1926, in Adrian to William H. and Alma G. (Bieltelschies) Wright.
He graduated from Adrian High school in 1944. He entered the military in September of 1945, serving in the Army Air Corp. He saw service in Guam and Iwo Jima. He was discharged in August of 1946.
He married the love of his life, Camilla O’Pravil on June 4, 1955 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh, MI, and she survives. They have two children, a daughter, Kimberlee Salenbien of Adrian and a son, Kevin (Tammy) Wright of Onsted.
Morrie got involved in sign painting and in June of 1972 bought out Garrison Signs. He changed the name to Wright Signs, which his son, Kevin, now operates. Morrie enjoyed playing the organ and played at many parties. He was an avid golfer, playing in 15 different states including Hawaii. He was a member of the V.F.W.
In addition to his wife and children, Morrie is survived by a sister, Thelma Inman of Toledo; and six grandchildren, whom he dearly enjoyed and loved spending time with, Kelly, Kerry and Thomas Salenbien and Connor, Madison and Miranda Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Chet and Harold Wright.
Funeral services for Morrie will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home with Father Bob Schramm presiding. Burial will be in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home.
