Robert Dale Bird

Robert Dale Bird, age 89, went to be with his Lord, and to be with his beloved Eunice Jane, at Trinity Health in Ypsilanti, on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2023. He was born September 8, 1935 in Ridgeway, Mich., to Walter and Jennie (Hicks) Bird. On May 11, 1957, in Tecumseh, Robert married his beloved sweetheart, Eunice Jane Haracourt in the First Baptist Church. Robert was an ordained deacon in the Episcopal Church and attended Christ Church in Adrian. He enjoyed being with Eunice, puzzles of any kind (crossword, Sudoku, etc.), reading, music and being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling with Eunice. He retired in 1997 from Tecumseh Products Company.

Robert is survived by his children, Dale (Mai Quach) and Lara (Janet) Bird; sisters, Jennie Nader, Janet Prajizmer, Francis Campbell, Cathy Averill, Karen (Alex) Papadakis, Rebecca Bird, and Sherri Bird; brothers, David (Susan) and Walter Louis (Julie) Bird; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife and lifelong sweetheart, Eunice Jane in 2013, having celebrated nearly 57 years of marriage; his parents; beloved daughter, Karen Annette Bird; and sisters, Betty, Judy, Mary, Rosella, and Ellen.

Visitation for Robert was held on Monday, Nov. 11, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian, from 2-7 p.m. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m., at Christ Episcopal Church in Adrian, with Father Dan Buchin, officiating. Interment followed at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh.
