Pamela Dafoe

Pamela Dafoe, age 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, after a month-long battle with a rare heart condition. Her two best friends in the world, Sue and Gordon, were by her side at Michigan Medicine Hospital in Ann Arbor.  

Pam was born on March 13, 1956, in Detroit, Mich. to Robert and Theresa (Cable) Dafoe. She attended Eastern Michigan University on a Presidential Scholarship where she received a degree in early elementary education.

Pam was blessed to have what she considered the greatest job in the world. She was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years in the Britton/Deerfield District. Pam touched the lives of hundreds of students which she lovingly referred to as her “kiddos.”  She had a huge impact on many of their lives. Often former students would tell Pam she was their favorite teacher, which always was a great source of pride.

Pam was never one to sit still, even in retirement. She took a job at a nearby greenhouse where she loved to play in the dirt and offer suggestions for new planting ideas. She greatly enjoyed this new position since she was an avid gardener and flower enthusiast.  

Pam was also a talented golfer and was a member of many leagues over the years. She loved to be out in the sun and playing a game that she was passionate about. She loved to try new craft projects and activities which she then shared with her family and friends. Pam also volunteered at the local elementary school in her later years. 

 
Pam was an incredibly kindhearted, thoughtful, and passionate person who will be greatly missed by all.  

She is survived by her sister, Patti, brother, Paul, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and godchildren, along with whom she shared a special bond. (Derek, Peyton, Drew, Stella, Mandee, Trey, Jennifer, Ryan, Allison, Audrey, Levi, Kelsey, Olivia and Michael).

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Patrick.

There will be a private memorial service and a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date.
