Britton
Helen Stella Wielfaert-Korb finished her tasks here on earth and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025. She was an impressive 100 years old and was more than halfway to reaching 101.
Helen was born on January 8, 1925, at home in Belleville, Mich., the daughter of Anton and Anastasia (Herlovich) Tkachuk.
In 1951, Helen married Albert Wielfaert and they were blessed with five sons during their 46 years of marriage. Albert passed away in 1998. Helen married her second husband, Lionel Korb, in 2010, and they were fortunate to share 13 years together before his death in 2023.
Life was very busy raising five sons and working on the family farm. Helen appreciated the strong work ethic the farm helped to instill in the boys and the many adventures that took place on the farm. Helen enjoyed bird watching, the beauty of flowers and gardening. Family was the center of Helen’s life, and she always made time to share her love and experience with them.
Helen will be missed by her children, Douglas (Marcia) Wielfaert, Daniel (Teresa Hixson) Wielfaert, daughter-in-law Kathy (Kenneth) Wielfaert, daughter-in-law Cindy (David) Wielfaert, and Thomas (Sherri) Wielfaert; 17 grandchildren and 22.5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Albert and Lionel; and her sons, Kenneth and David Wielfaert.
