DONNA MAY LOUISE GROSSMAN

Donna May Louise Grossman, 83 of Clinton died February 18, 2008 at Provincial House in Adrian.  Donna was born in Jackson, Michigan December 4, 1924, the daughter of Floyd and Vera (Gauss) Jacob.  She married Milton “Rusty” Grossman June 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death January 28, 2008.  

Donna was employed at the Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti from 1944-1945 and Ford Motor Co. in Manchester from 1945-1950.  Donna's time was spent involved with many organizations; Mary Martha Group at the United Church of Christ in Clinton, also teaching Sunday School at both Clinton United Church of Christ and Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester where she was treasurer for Sunday School.  Many dinners were prepared by Donna for Clinton Rotary for many years.  As a member of the 600 Club at bingo, she enjoyed playing bingo wherever and whenever she could.  Donna was a leader for both Boy and Girl Scouts, and was an avid bowler and card player and enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, baking and loved to entertain family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce (Sylvia) Grossman of Chelsea and Thomas  Grossman of Clinton, four daughters, Deborah Grossman of Manchester, Kay (John) O'Conner of Watford, ND, JoAnn (Martin) McDaniel of Bat Cave, NC and Rebecca Cyrus  of LaGrange, OH, one brother, Karl (Margaret) Jacob of Manchester, nineteen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother Sonny, one sister Ruth Ann Marsh and one nephew Floyd Beatty.  

Visitation will be held at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes on Thursday, February 21 from 4 to 8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22 at 11 a.m. at the Clinton United Church of Christ with Pastor Tom Uphaus and Pastor Gary Kwiatek officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Manchester.  Visitation will also be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.  
Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel United Church of Christ, Manchester or to United Church of Christ, Clinton.
