JOHN VAN HORN
John Van Horn, 74, of Adrian, died March 6, 2008. He was born November 5, 1933, in Barking, PA, the son Paul and Ruth (Goodwin) Van Horn. On November 20, 1957, he married Anita Luce in Adrian, MI. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2006.
John was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Chloris as a Gunner's Mate. He was retired from Bohn Aluminum. John was an avid golfer and Adrian Maples sports fan. After retirement he worked part time at Wolf Creek Golf Club, Adrian.
John is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Thomas) Stoner of Adrian, and Sherry McCarley of Adrian; three grandchildren, Kristina (Rodney) Price, Matthew Stoner, John McCarley; great-granddaughter, Kimberly; two brothers; Albert, and Wayne; and four sisters, Esther, Eilleen, Carol, and, Valerie.
Graveside services took place Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Bryan Manary officiating.
Military Honors were conducted by the Adrian VFW Post 1584 Annis Fint.
Arrangments were by the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.
