I am writing to voice my concern over the Investigative Report that appeared in last week’s Tecumseh Herald. This front-page story, below the photos of the school board members and candidates running for the school board, was a disservice to all your readers.

I’d like to start off by thanking the many parents that have stopped by and thanked me for my years of service on the Tecumseh School board, and for those who understood the reasons I needed to resign.

Governor Snyder’s 2013 inquiry as to how Buzz, in conjunction with the EAA model, could be taken statewide despite the clear information that it was not working is an indication that Snyder’s interest did not lie in what was best for students or education.

Little did we know — or could have possibly in our wildest dreams fathomed — the full gravity of the changes at TPS. We were blindsided by what was framed as a building capacity issue. Drastic changes running the gamut throughout the system were made and the propaganda blitz was on.

I’ve been employed at Tecumseh Public Schools for 11 years as both a high school and middle school teacher, and currently as a facilitator at West STEAM Center. I fully support the changes taking place in our district.
