BRITTON — Rosemary Niblack, age 96, of Britton, Mich., passed away Aug. 16, 2026, at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. She was born on July 30, 1930, in Milan, Mich., the daughter of the late Herbert Raymond and Beatrice (Cross) Gilmore.
Rosemary was a 1948 graduate of Britton-Macon High School, and she went on to graduate from Western Michigan with a master’s degree. In 1952, she became an elementary school teacher in the Britton-Macon Schools, teaching third and fourth grades in a one-room schoolhouse. Rosemary retired in 1992, after 40 years of dedication to young people. She was a very active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Clinton, Mich., and she delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Rosemary was also a member of Questors, a group which focuses on historical preservation, restoration and education. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her brother, Wesley Gilmore.
