Troopers arrest robbery suspect, seize pistols near Tecumseh

RIDGEWAY TWP. — Michigan State Police troopers apprehended a wanted woman and seized two pistols during a traffic stop Aug. 15 southeast of Tecumseh.
The incident happened at about 3 a.m. as troopers from the Monroe Post were assisting with a search for two vehicles connected to an armed robbery, home invasion, domestic violence and stolen vehicle case that occurred at about 11 p.m. Aug. 14 in Washtenaw County. According to a news release from the state police, the troopers received information that the suspects might be attempting to leave the state and began canvassing Lenawee County for the vehicles. They found one of the suspect vehicles, a Dodge Durango, on Centennial Road near Billmeyer Highway in Ridgeway Township and conducted a traffic stop without incident.
One suspect, a 27-year-old woman from Ann Arbor, was taken into custody and turned over to Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies in connection with the original incident. The vehicle was driven by a 29-year-old man from Monroe.
Troopers seized two firearms during the investigation and are expected to seek charges related to carrying a concealed weapon on both occupants of the vehicle.
Troopers were assisted by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office and Tecumseh Police Department.
