Tony Menyhart is concerned about tax assessments in the City of Tecumseh, but his issue with an increase in assessments isn’t just personal.

Average increase in city property values up seven percent

Property values are up for the city of Tecumseh with average increases of 7 percent for residential, and 2.5 and 3 percent, respectively, for commercial and industrial. Assessments were mailed to property owners last week.

Townships move forward to remedy assessment issues

Two local townships have taken action to fix assessment issues that the Michigan State Tax Commission notified them of in October, more than a year after they were first discovered.
