The dates to volunteer are on the following Saturdays: April 5, April 12, April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17 and May 31 and also Monday, April 21. The time of the event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please remember to bring boots and a sack lunch.

Jessie Lee “Sister” Brown, 74, of Adrian, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at her home. She was born October 14, 1933, in Elaine, Arkansas, to Clarence and Viola (Evans) Langford. On June 1, 1952, she married R.T. Brown in Elaine, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2001.
Teddy Cody Collar, 75, of Sand Creek, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 7, 1932, in Morenci, to Wells and Lola Bertha (Cody) Collar.
He attended Morenci Schools and graduated from Sand Creek High School on May 24, 1992. He married Mary Lou Butler on November 14, 1953, in Angola, Indiana and she survives. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 on the USS O’Hare and the USS Zellers during the Korean Conflict. Ted had been employed by American Chain and Cable for 31 years.
Jeanne K. Kempf, 86, of Holt, formerly of Tecumseh, passed away March 27, 2008. Jeanne was born October 13, 1921 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Raymond and Jessie (Lake) Sluyter, Sr. In 1971 she married Norman Kempf He preceded her in death.
Angel Luis Millet, Sr, 82, of Adrian, passed away March 29, 2008. Angel was born June 30, 1925 in Camuy, Puerto Rico, the son of Valentin and Hermenia (Quintana) Millet. On July 29, 1950, he married Lucille Luck in Monro and she survives. From 1943 to 1945, Angel served his country in the United States Army in the Infantry Coast Artillery Battalion as an army engineer in Okinawa where he obtained the rank of Corporal. In 1947, he came to Adrian to attend flight training school where he received his private pilot's license.
Leoma E. Rickard, 90, formerly of Holloway, passed away March 27, 2008. Leoma was born December 5, 1917, in Deerfield, Michigan, the daughter of Otis and Angeline (Bragg) Payne. On February 24, 1940, she married Hayes Junior Rickard in Adrian. He preceded her in death in 1949.
For the past 20 years she made her home with her granddaughter Carolyn (Hassan) Anahid where she helped raise her great granddaughters, Parisa and Sahra Anahid. Tecumseh residents will remember Leoma as a sales person working for Osbornes Department Store.
Alzada Noble, 85, of Adrian, passed away, March 31, 2008. She is survived by her children; Nancy Miller, Alzada Dolencic, and Leland "Sam" Brown, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
At her request cremation will take place. Arrangements have been entrusted to J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
Teddy L. Hall, 75 of Tecumseh, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Herrick Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home, 1448 Short St., Tecumseh. Please call 517-424-1848 for further funeral arrangements.
Rudolf H. “Rudy” Poehlsen, 73, of Adrian, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at his home. He was born January 12, 1935, in Wolmirstedt, Germany to Gustav and Elizabeth (Meyer) Poehlsen. He married Rosemarie Schultze on May 21, 1961, in Tenafly, New Jersey and she survives.
Rudy served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He had been employed by Johnson Controls in Manchester for 22 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh and its choir, the Lenawee Community Chorus, the Studebaker Drivers Club and the Avanti Owners Association.
Buford David Johnson, 83, of Adrian, passed away, Monday, March 31, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 2, 1924, in Detroit, MI, to William Alexander and Sally Severa (Braden) Johnson.
Randall Neal Rohn, 32, of San Francisco, passed away suddenly Friday, March 28, 2008, at his home. He was born July 23, 1975, to Robert Rohn and Rebecca (Reba Armbruster) Rohn in Adrian.
Randall was a graduate of Tecumseh High School in 1993 and Hillsdale College in 1997. He worked as a Financial Analyst in the San Francisco Bay area. Randall enjoyed playing baseball in high school and college, international traveling, art and reading.
Ethel I. (Beaubien-Garno) Simpson, 76, of Adrian, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. She was born April 19, 1931, in Morenci, to Leo A, and Rose M. (Sieren) Beaubien. On April 11, 1993, Ethel married Jack Simpson in Toledo, who preceded her in death.
