I am writing to support both Tecumseh Public Schools (TPS) bond issues. Clearly, Tecumseh, Lenawee County, and Michigan are facing difficult times. These bond issues will not only help keep and improve the collective TPS environment and safety, but it will help many of our local citizens in a time when many can truly use the help.
I am very concerned regarding the manner in which a Tecumseh police officer handled what should have been an “animal control” issue last Easter evening.
A friend and I were taking a walk on Red Mill Drive at approximately 6 p.m. when a police cruiser drove up from behind us and parked at the curb a few houses ahead. He opened his trunk and took out a noose. The homeonwer greeted him in the driveway, and the two of them began perusing the bushes in front of the homeowner’s house.
I was saddened when I learned that Tecumseh Products was leaving Tecumseh. In the 60’s, my wife Virginia, better known as Tyke, opened Tecumseh Office Supply. I believe that our relationship with Tecumseh Products was excellent. Some of the personnel that we had contact with were Chet Damuth, Charlie Mensing, Ed Hunt, Preston Caswell and Frank Barrett.
As a former resident of Tecumseh and a former Tecumseh City Councilman, I was wondering whether there are any photos of Tecumseh available online. I am currently living/working in Jinan China (3rd time out of retirement. I’ll get it right yet!) a city of about 5 million urban and 6 million rural which is located in the Shangdong Province about half way between Shanghai and Beijing. I’m working for an American company as a consultant to a Chinese company supplying parts to several American companies.
This may be the season for Tecumseh varsity baseball coach Tom Bullenger. Seven seniors return to the Indians' team and each look to kick up some dust to advance into championship games.
Priority one for the Indians: win the Southeastern Conference White Division title. Priority two for the Indians: win the Southeastern Conference White Division title. Then and only then will another goal be set for the Tribe.

It was a special anniversary for downtown Tecumseh’s Wild Iris on Tuesday as a crowd joined owner Nanci Prezioso to celebrate the new storefront location on the northeast corner of Chicago and Evans Street.
The opening drew a lot of “wows” as Prezioso has transformed the first floor of the historic building into a bright wide-opened space filled with displays featuring merchandise and clothing for women.
U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg, R-Tipton, recently completed a series of Town Hall Meetings across Michigan’s 7th Congressional District in keeping with his campaign promise of staying in touch with his constituents to listen to their views on important issues. Such meetings also allow him make good on another promise — that he would not allow Washington to become him. The Congressman still spends most weekends at home in Tipton, making the commute to his Capitol offices each week in approximately two hours, counting drive time to the airport and time in the air.
