ESS to host Empty Bowls benefit February 6

The Evans Street Station together with The Adrian Center for the Arts will once again sponsor an Empty Bowls event on February 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to benefit local organizations who help feed those in need in the Lenawee community.

People of Michigan, citizens of the United States, I implore you to write or call your state congressman or woman to let them know we don’t want to build a wall across the Mexican-U.S. border! This is the most stupid idea to come out of Washington in years.

School board meeting not the place for “dirty laundry”

I recently had the “privilege” of attending the board of education meeting for Britton Deerfield Schools on January 10.  I had kind of figured that maybe, just maybe there would be some “fireworks” that would come about as a totally new board was conducting their first meeting as a group.

Congress, president should forfeit pay during shutdown

The members of the Senate and the House of Representatives in Washington D.C. are very well paid and well above the so called “middle class.”

Have you noticed that every time the government is shut down, these well-to-do congress people make sure that they are not affected personally?
