Michigan Avian Experience takes birds into high school to help students learn from nature

The Michigan Avian Experience (MAE), a nonprofit organization, visited Tecumseh High School on January 5. The organization is focused on education programs with the use of injured birds which are not releasable back into the wild due to their conditions.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other partners are kicking off a yearlong celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Migratory Bird Treaty, an effort to conserve birds that migrate across international borders.
