Clinton well-represented at Ford Field

Unbeknownst to most high school wrestling fans, it was a tough wrestling season for Clinton High School athlete Logan Badge.

He re-injured his elbow, was out of action for nearly one-quarter of the season, and was sick.

Clinton wrestlers travel to Grand Rapids for round robin tournament

The tournament at Grand Rapids Forest Hills on January 18 was a round robin format and the Clinton Redskins went 3-1 for the day. The wrestling started with a win over Allendale 47-23. The second round was against host Forest Hills Eastern and the Redskins prevailed 56-15.

Indian wrestlers host first SEC Conference Quad meet

On Wednesday, Jan. 8 Tecumseh wrestled the first time at home this season in an SEC Conference Quad Meet and lost to Chelsea 37-33 in a very close match. The team competed well, but had an unfortunate situation that cost them the dual. Aidan Mckelvy was up 6-2 in his match in the second period.

The Tecumseh varsity wrestling team traveled to the Brooklyn Columbia Central Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 14. Their record was 2-3 on the day. This year’s young team wrestled well and never gave up.

Varsity wrestling was the featured sport at Tecumseh High School on Monday as the Indians competed in Southeastern Conference action against visiting Bedford and Ypsilanti for the first time this season on their home mats.

CLINTON — Clinton’s coed varsity wrestling team opened the season at home with two wins on December 6, defeating Napoleon 66-18 and Ida 39-33.

Drew Marten has accomplished what no other wrestler in the 150-year history of Tecumseh High School has ever done — won two individual state championships, and consecutively at that.
 

Comar secures state title with overtime victory

Never doubting that he could do it — that he would do it, Clinton sophomore Noah Comar won the Division 4 state championship with a 3-1 overtime victory at the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s individual state finals on Saturday, March 4, at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
